PIP is mostly for legal requirements - if you know you have done your best, do not spend a minute to prove yourself deserving of their approval - plan your exit/move

Get a lawyer involved early. Document everything. Negotiate your package well.... This should include them paying for your legal fee from the moment you contact a lawyer, not when they become aware of your lawyer.

Also....HR....they are there to protect the company., Make no mistake.

It is sad if you give your all and have been dedicated for your company even at costs of personal time and health. Remind yourself that you deserve better than this. Do not spend time on convincing them to respect you. Especially if you are a token of their wrong doing, they will not want.you around. Even you win an industry award for them, it will not even be enough.
