I agree. One thing, though. We can also use some self-compassion as we may not be aware of our own pattern because that is the world as we know it. Having a kid is like having a big mirror following you. It is confronting. Sometimes you do not see your own pattern until they call us out, or we see it in them and panic 😀 My first-born is a master when it comes to calling me out. Knowing about generational trauma + family dynamic have helped me gain understanding and compassion towards my parents. How is your experience?
